Trading Places

Work on the Old Cow Byre West is well underway!  The new windows have been fitted and inside the transformation is slowly taking shape.  Grant at GM Fit has settled in nicely and it’s a hive of activity in the gym in the Old Cow Byre East at the start of the new year!  Hopefully talks with our prospective new tenants will turn up trumps and the Old Cow Byre West will be bustling with customers!

Elsewhere, Builder Ben and Facilities Apprentice Euan have been busy bringing new life to the site…..

Builder Ben making a new wooden shelter

If you’ve popped into the Tap recently, you won’t have missed the stylish new shelter in front of the Hangar.  It squirrels away the rather large heater that provides the all-important warm air to dry the hops in the kiln.  As it is used but once a year for harvest, it made sense to move it to its new home to create some more space inside, and by piping the warm air through to the Hangar, it’s much quieter inside!  By reorientating the kiln by 90 degrees to fit neatly into the corner, Ben and Euan found even more space, which was brilliant for the Brewery’s Burns Night ceilidh!

The next building on the list to get a lick of paint was for our long-standing tenants.  It certainly has brought the building back to life!

With a long list of projects, including the Sunken Garden behind the Brewery Tap, which will be our new events space, Ben and Euan are going to be busy this spring!
