Hops enter CIBD competition 2025

Our 2025 hop harvest wasn’t prolific, due to the extraordinary hot and dry summer, but we have high hopes of its quality!

Samples of our home-grown Fuggles, English Cascade and heritage hop, Farnham White Bine, have been stored away safely in the cool.  So while Matthew takes a well-deserved break, the final selection of samples is made for the 2025 British Hop Competition.

Judging for the Chartered Institute of Brewing & Distilling (CIBD) takes place in November, with results announced in January 2026.

Hop Estate Manager Matthew will be hoping to replicate his success of 2023 with medals in all three categories entered and success in the prestigious Le May Cup – the first brewer to take the honour.
