21 teams took up the Tap challenge of Quizmaster’s Bruce’s latest quiz.
Everyone was in with a chance in the 50/50 round of “Either / Or”. The ever-popular Music Round was “Colour By Number” with either a colour or number in the title of the track.
“Spot the Dog” went down well particularly with the four-legged friends, who were lending a helping paw to their teams.
With rounds ranging from “In the News” to “Random Knowledge”, it was anybody’s guess who would win.
But the winners by a whisker were “6 at 15”, a team of 6 spanning the generations seated at table 15! Some of the team were old hands at the quiz, but in the future they will have to keep a close eye on first-timers, “Drayton Knights”, who missed out on the top prize by just one point!
Two tables got 31 out of 32 in Spot the Dog and appropriately received a spot prize of a bottle of beer! The best Question & Answer of the evening was:
Q: An Oxfordshire couple made the news when they finished a pub crawl of 632 pubs in March 2018. What was the connection between all the pubs?
A: The pubs were all called The Red Lion. But we loved this team’s answer, “They all stocked Hogs Back beer!”
The real answer was the pubs were all called The Red Lion. But we liked this team’s answer best, “they all stocked Hogs Back beer!”
A fun evening was had by all, with pints and pizzas a-plenty. Our thanks for your generous donations on the night, which will go to The Vine Centre in Aldershot.
If you think you up to taking on the challenge, gather a group of family and friends and head on down to the Tap for our next charity quiz on Thursday 7th March. Just £5 per table to enter and all table ticket proceeds go to charity.
