Double Finalist at SIBA Business Awards 2025

MD Miles was in distinguished company this week at the SIBA Business Awards 2025 in Liverpool.

The SIBA Business Awards seek to congratulate excellence in the brewing industry across a variety of categories, from pump clip, can and bottle design, to efforts taken by brewers to make their business more sustainable, innovative or diverse, as well as naming the UK’s best pubs, bars and retailers of beer from independent breweries. 

Hogs Back Brewery was nominated in two award categories…….

Community Engagement

This award highlights breweries who have shown an outstanding commitment to engaging with their local community, supporting local initiatives, or raising money for charitable causes through events and fundraisers.

Sustainable Business

For taking the ethics of environmental awareness and sustainable business operation way beyond the norm, with either a single innovative initiative or a holistic strategy for sustainability.

Sadly we missed out on the top spots but it was a great achievement that both our applications made it through to the Finalists stage of what “was the hardest judging year yet, with a really incredibly high level of entries across the board”.

We loved sharing our Community Engagement story of the invaluable support of the Hogs Back Hoppers in the hop garden and how the community comes together for the Hop Blessing, Hop Garden Open Evening and Hop Harvest Party Weekend, as well as supporting local through our sourcing in the Brewery Shop and Tap, our “family” of tenants on site and sending spent grain off to local farmers as animal feed.  We couldn’t forget our Tongham TEA Clubbers or TEA-m Hogstar raising funds for local charities either!

There was so much to shout about our Sustainable Business with the launch of One Planet Brewing Co, the 120 solar panels on the roof, the new “pre-loved” brewing vessels, our home grown hops, “greening” the site up by planting, using reusable beer containers and much more!

Whilst we were the bridesmaid this year, we’ll try again next year!
