New Management in the Shop!
Meet the new managers making their mark in the Brewery Shop!
Fronting the Shop team to deliver top notch customer service with a smile is only half of it. Behind the scenes the team is busy keeping the fresh beer in the cellar in tip top condition and stocking the wondrous range of beers.
With a wealth of beer knowledge and retail experience between them, we caught up with Neil and Lindsey:
Neil : General Manager - Retail and E-Commerce
Retail Background:
In the past 3 years, I have run two pubs in the Surrey Hills as General Manager. Prior to that, I ran an award-winning E-Commerce business for 12 years, and previously worked as an IT and Web Manager and a Recording Studio Engineer.
What makes working in the Brewery Shop so different?
Hog's Back is a well-established brand, independently-owned with a reputation for producing quality beers. I've always had a passion for craft ales, so combining this with my retail experience made it an ideal role for me. The team here are fantastic and make it a hugely enjoyable place to work.
Favourite beer:
If I'm allowed to pick two, I would say Surrey Nirvana for a great session ale, and IKAT Double Dry Hopped DIPA from Salt Brewery as a special treat!
Your ideal place to enjoy a beer?
Under a palm tree on a beach in Antigua
Who would you love to enjoy a pint with?
Barack Obama. I'm sure he has some fascinating anecdotes!
Lindsey - Retail & E-Commerce Assistant Manager
Retail Background
I have worked in food retail solely in my career so far. My last role was with Aldi for 7 years, I was a Deputy Manager and progressed to Assistant Manager. Working in 3 stores in total in that time. The most recent store I worked in I helped open alongside the Grand Opening team. Before that I worked at Sainsburys for 8 years from when I left college.
What makes working in the Brewery Shop so different?
I live locally and have been a regular customer to the Brewery since I moved here 4 years ago. So now working here is great, the Brewery is well known and the customers are extremely loyal to the business. It's a nice contrast to the retail environment I am used to.
Favourite beer:
Hogstar Juicy or Hazy Hog Cider. I like drinking lager and the Hogstar Juicy is very tasty, it's extremely drinkable when served cold. Likewise with the Hazy Hog.
Your ideal place to enjoy a beer?
Watching the sunset, sitting by the beach eating a good Italian on holiday in Malta.
Who would you love to enjoy a pint with?
My Dad, he loved the Hogsback Brewery and was big TEA drinker.
Having hit the ground running this summer, Neil and Lindsey are now firmly in their stride and adding their stamp on the Brewery Shop.
