Hop Harvest 2025 complete in record time! - Hogs Back Brewery

Hop Harvest 2025 complete in record time!

The 2025 hop harvest is over.  In just 3 weeks of work, Matthew and his team of Hogs Back Hoppers have brought in the harvest in record time.  Here are just some of the highlights…

Come harvest day, the hop garden looked a picture…

The 2025 Hoppers T Shirts were much in evidence....

Despite fewer hop cones, thanks to the long, hot, dry summer, the size of some of the cones was impressive…

It would have been rude not to stop for the Hop Harvest Party!

The extra week in the garden gave the Cascade hops time to develop their famous citrusy aroma....

The first brew with the freshly harvested 2025 hops – Green TEA – has gone through the brewhouse and will be pouring soon.....

In all, it took just 3 working weeks to bring in the harvest - that's a record!

86 rows of hops harvested

1.5 tonnes of hops

Or 30 zentners, to use the traditional hop terminology.

The harvest quantity may be down on last year, but we have high hopes of the quality!

Congratulations to Matthew and the Hogs Back Hoppers for pulling it off again! We're sure there will be pint or too soon to celebrate.
