Farnham White is Back!
It's finally here! Farnham White is back pouring at the Brewery Shop and Tap.
Brewed with 100% heritage hops grown exclusively by the brew team here at Manor Farm and within walking distance of the brewhouse and just a mile from where it originated over 250 years ago.
This fresh, golden bitter has rich, earthy, peppery notes and a long, dry finish. Brewed with fine English malts and Farnham White Bine whole hop flowers. A great modern example of truly local brewing at its best!
Miles has squeezed in a brew on the pilot plant in honour of this week's Hop Blessing ceremony.
Did you know?
Farnham White Bine hops were developed by local farmer, Mr Peckham Williams of nearby Badshot Lea in the early 1700's. Prized for its fine, subtle, slightly peppery aroma, it was once the pre-eminent hop and was the pre-cursor variety to the now better-known Kent Goldings.
100 years ago, fields full of Farnham White Bine hops were a common sight around Farnham. Sadly these have all gone. But our brewers have revived this famous heritage hop in our very own hop garden, just yards from the brew house. Each year we harvest a crop to use in our range of beers.
No-one else grows Farnham White Bine hops. Enjoy your own glass of history! Pouring now in the Brewery Shop and Tap.
