About PROGRESS:

PROGRESS, a locally-based charity supporting patients diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, is delighted to be holding its first major fund-raising event at the Hog’s Back Brewery.

It will take place on the evening of July 4th offering patients, families and friends the chance to enjoy a “beef and beer” dinner, with music, dancing, raffle and merchandise, all in aid of an important cause.

Oesophago-gastric cancer is rarely detected at an early stage and, despite advances in surgery and related procedures, has one of the lowest survival rates of any cancer.

PROGRESS aims to improve the understanding of oesophago-gastric cancer by raising awareness, together with providing support for patients and those involved in caring for them.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital at Guildford is where most patients from across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire will receive treatment and surgery.

PROGRESS launched last year and has both medical and patient trustees. More details can be found at https://www.progresscharity.org
