Car Park Improvements!
With a busy summer ahead, it’s time to get cracking on our temporary overflow carpark. The field beside the Dutch Barn has always been used when we’re hosting busy events but we’re laying a temporary surface over the grass to make it easier to manage and so that it can be used when it’s raining!
These bad boys arrived on Tuesday…..
….so Matthew took advantage to put the roller over the Beer Garden too!
Work is already underway to lay a membrane and cover it with recycled road planings (also known as road scalpings or road scrapings), which will be compacted down to form a temporary hard surface. This means it will be easy to take up again when it's no longer needed, the field can be returned to grass and the road planings can be recycled and used elsewhere!
There will be space for about 50 cars, so plenty of room for all our Tap Room event visitors.
While we’re about it, we’ll be using the hard standing area, tucked away by the Dutch barn, especially for staff parking.
This will free up more space in the main carparking in the yard for the increasing number of visitors to our site.
The temporary overflow car park is due to be operational by 8th June. Whilst we don’t expect to find a king of England in our temporary overflow car park, it will certainly make parking easier for all our many customers!
