It's National Fish & Chips Day on Friday 2nd June and our Traditional English Ale, Tongham TEA, makes the perfect beer batter.
It’s so simple with our 1-2-3 recipe! You’ll need:
- 100g of plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 300ml of Tongham TEA
- Oil for frying
Mix the egg and Tongham TEA into the flour to create a batter. Allow the mixture to stand for at least 10 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oil in the frying pan. Dip your pieces of white fish in the batter and pop into the frying pan. Cook until golden and turn over to cook the other side. Check your batter is golden on both sides and your fish is cooked through. Serve straight away with a plate of chips and a glass of Tongham TEA!

Or pop on down to the Tap and we'll serve up a freshly cooked beer-battered fish finger sandwich with skin on chips! Don't forget your pint of Tongham TEA!
