Ale for The Big 3 0!
Did you know the Brewery first opened its doors on 4th August 1992, selling its first brew, a traditional English ale, to local pubs? This little known ale soon became affectionately known as Tongham TEA and we've been brewing it to this day to an almost unchanged recipe!
30 years on from this first brew, the Brewery has gone from strength to strength, with Tongham TEA a regular fixture on the bar in many pubs across the south.
A big birthday wouldn’t be complete without an anniversary ale, so Miles has brewed up something rather special for our big 3 0. Utopia is normally reserved for every 1000th brew, but Utopia 7000 was such a big hit in November 2020, he decided he couldn’t wait until our 8000th brew. So brew 7360, aka Utopia 30th Anniversary Ale, is fermenting nicely and will be in its prime for our birthday!
Utopia 30th is a full bodied, golden ale with citrus and tropical notes. Brewed with Fuggles and Cascade hops from our own garden, complemented by a fine trio of US hops - Centennial, Mosaic and Ekuanot. Look out for it in Brewery Shop and Tap in time for our birthday on 4th August.
