Tongham TEA Club Open Evening Triumph

The Tongham TEA Clubbers turned out in force last night for their exclusive Open Day.  With over 170 members and guests booked in, it was a busy night!

MD Miles made sure the beer was in tip top condition.

With Tour Guides Mel and Steve (aka Croc) on hand, the TEA Clubbers were treated to a tour around the Hogs Back brew house. 

Then it was off to One Planet to see the new brewing vessels and Hop Torpedo, before stopping off at the new Cold Store.

The TEA Clubbers' taste buds were put to the test with our Tutored Tasting, courtesy of MD Miles and Tour Guide & Quizmaster Bruce, tasting 4 different beers with samples of suggested food pairings.

Starting with the 3.8% malty best bitter Exmoor Ale with Macaroni Cheese bites, which contrasted nicely with the hop-forward second beer, Little Victories 4.3% Session IPA from Mondo, with a blue cheese.  Next up was the full-flavoured Hog APA, our 4.5% take on a hoppy American Pale with classic Margherita pizza before finishing with One Planet’s crisp and clean 4.8% Hazy Lager, paired with Hair of the Hog sausages.

To finish the floor was thrown open for the Q&A, with Miles fielding an array of questions, ranging from whether Hogs Back Brewery would open a pub, which other Exmoor beers would be brewed here and which new beers can the TEA Clubbers expect to see soon.

It was lovely to see so many TEA Clubbers at the Open Evening and a good night was had by all.
