TEA Club members get hands-on at Open Evening
Over the past few weeks we have hosted a number of events to show off the Brewery and the Hop Garden whilst we are in full action stations. Last week we had the first of our two TEA Club open evenings over the next 2 months offering members of our club the exclusive chance to see what's new at the brewery and ask their questions to our senior team. Members were able to hear an update from Managing Director Rupert Thompson on how we are expecting this year's hop harvest to go and our grand plans for moving the hop gardens and what that will hopefully enable us to achieve in the future. Rupert also dropped some strong hints about new brands that we are very excited to launch in the next six months - watch this space! Head Brewer Miles Chesterman was very excited to show off his brand new kegging & filtration equipment that he's super smug about! The new equipment means that we can take our production of Hogstar lager up to the next level and also look towards testing out new kegged products. Finally braver members were given the chance to tap & vent a cask of TEA; showing them the difference between a Bright and a Sedimented cask. Unfortunately for us most of the victims - sorry volunteers! - had been listening closely to Gordon and Colin and remembered to turn the tap off before hammering it in! Having been well lubricated whist going around on the tour, members were able to pour their own beers and have a general catch up with other members and compare tasting notes. We're looking forward to welcoming more members to our next open evening in October. We're already sold-out for that date but we will have plenty more events in the coming months.
