Charity Quiz Night Fun
The first quiz of 2022 got underway last night in the Brewery Tap. 12 teams joined us to give their grey matter a bit of a work out.
New quiz master, Bruce, quickly settled into his stride behind the microphone. He's a real pro! The 6 rounds ranged from "TV Theme Songs" and "In the News" as well as the ever-popular Picture Round, so there was something for everyone. With questions on general knowledge, famous people and Connections, he soon had the teams scratching their heads.
Pizzas and pints helped the evening go down nicely.
After a close fought quiz, the Birthday Boy team emerged as winners and seemed rather pleased with their prize of beer. The team is so named because today it's a special birthday for Dean. Happy Birthday to him!
There were prizes for the runners up and for the gallant try-hards too. But there were also chances to win bottles of beer at the end for some of Bruce's Special Questions.
Thanks to the generosity of all the teams, who helped raise money for The Therapy Garden in nearby Normandy. We were so pleased that Hannah, Katrina and Eloise, who are part of the charity's horticultural team, as well as Jack and Lizzie, who volunteer at the charity, were here to join in with the quiz too.
Next month’s quiz is Thursday 3rd March in aid of the Afghanistan Crisis Appeal (Disasters Emergency Committee), so make a date in your diary and book now.
