Premier League of Beers!

Ahead of the Premier League returning to our screens this week, the Brewery Shop team has taken a look at all the beers in our British bottle, craft can and international beer selections to choose which beers best represent all 20 teams. Take a look at our choices and if you agree with our choices and like the sound of the beer, then why not come down and pick one up from our drive-through.

1) Liverpool - RipSnorter
If you were Aussie, you would probably have described the Red's season so far as being a 'right rip-snorter!' They only need 2 more wins to clinch their first Premier League or could even do it at this weekend's Merseyside Derby if Man City slip up at Arsenal. The beer is one of our core bottle range with a big following and, much like the side, has strong character with a finish as potent as Salah or Mane!

2) Manchester City - First Chop SUP - Available in Who's the Daddy kits
Welcome to Manchester! First Chop and the Blues of Manchester have been growing rapidly in recent years and SUP sits at the centre of their range dominating the midfield much like Kevin De Bruyne has all season. City's powers have weakened this year and with a potential 2 year ban from European football, could this be the end of the glory-years?

3) Leicester City - Little Swine Pale Ale
Under Brendan Rodgers the Foxes are almost back to the form which took them to the title in 2016. Little Swine packs a punch which goes beyond its 2.8%, much like the way Leicester stands out from the much richer clubs that surround them. They will be desperate to hang on to a fantastic third place.

4) Chelsea - Magic Rock Saucery - Available in Who's the Daddy kits
Chelsea fan Jack C in the shop chose Magic Rock Saucery for his pick of the week ‘A refreshing session ipa, with some light citrus notes to it. Gorgeous number.’ Frank Lampard has refreshingly given youth the chance to shine so far this season and has been rewarded for it. It hasn't stopped some fans grumbling so Frank may need a strong end to the campaign.

5) Manchester United - Ridgeway Brewing Hamster of Doom
For Man U fans we have chosen the suitable red and devilish Hamster of Doom. The beer is a favourite with browsers in the brewery shop, offering a modern take on a classic brown ale. Fans will be hoping to jump on the misfortune of their near-neighbours by clinching the final Champions League place if their ban appeal is unsuccessful.

6) Wolverhampton Wanderers - Hogstar Lager
A strong favourite of our range, Hogstar launched the brewery into keg range innovation back in 2012 and has picked up many international awards along the way. Wolves also has an award-laden past and their resurgence in the Premier League over the past couple of years means they're a team not to be ignored in the season run-in. Brewer Andrew (AKA 'Nasher') has a love for Wolves almost as strong as his love for Hogstar and given the colour, these 2 are a match made in heaven.

7) Sheffield United - Thornbridge Jaipur IPA
The Blades have made a surprisingly good impact on the league this season, far-surpassing want may expected from them. Brewed in the Peak District just beyond the city bounds, Jaipur is a perfect match for Sheffield United. It hits you on the break with powerful citrus flavours and then has the poise to offer a smooth finish.

8) Tottenham Hotspur - Beavertown Bloody 'Ell Blood Orange IPA - Available in Who's the Daddy kits
One thing that made us sit up and notice was when Spurs announced that their new stadium would include a micro-brewery managed by Beavertown! Fans have been enjoying fantastic craft beer all season long, even if the football hasn't been the best. They will be hoping that a fully fit Harry Kane will be able to see them push on for European football next season.

9) Arsenal - Hog IPA
We pick up the season with the North London rivals separated by just a point (with Arsenal having a game in hand). Head Brewer Miles, will be hoping that the Gunners can leapfrog Spurs and celebrate the latest St Totteringham's Day with a delicious Hog IPA can in the garden.

10) Burnley - Robinson's Trooper
This beer best embodies the same attitude that Sean Dyche has brought to the club - tough and old-fashioned and more than gets the job done! A few more battling performances from Wood and Barnes up front and they could get into Europe.

11) Crystal Palace - Gipsy Hill Brewing selection pack, Available for Local Home Delivery
The Eagles are sitting pretty in the middle of the league which will please their fans. We have paired the club with Gipsy Hill brewing, based just down the road from Selhurst Park. Each of their cans tell the story of a particular individual that they work with, a nice community message to tie in with the local feel of Palace.

12) Everton - TEA
Everton gets the privilege of being linked to TEA. A traditional club that has never dropped out of the league, the Toffees match well with the caramel sweetness which is part of the characteristics of our Traditional English Ale. Carlo Anchelotti helped shore up their leaky defence at the start of the season but they still find themselves further down the league then you normally would. Hopefully they'll have a sweet finish like TEA.

13) Newcastle United - Newcastle Brown Ale
Newcastle fans have been glued to gossip pages, patiently waiting to see if their supposedly huge takeover will go through or not. Jon from our marketing team is a huge Newcastle fan and prefers to look back to the Magpies glory days in the later 90s which is clear from his choice in beer. Newcastle Brown Ale have recently released a series of Limited Edition bottles called 'Icons of the North East' including this lovely St James Park bottle - 'What a canny looking pint!'

14) Southampton - Unity Brewing Co Land of Sunshine
The Saints haven't looked like the most consistent team every since their 9 nil home-pummelling against Leicester. Unity brewing are a Southampton based craft brewer and this Apricot Saison would seem to represent them perfectly - delicious and fruity but hoping to avoid a sour finish.

15) Brighton & Hove Albion - East Coast IPA
We have teamed Brighton up with our new keg and can beer as they share a similar Blue & White colour scheme, although one has a seagull in place of a hog. Brighton are yet to win a game in 2020 and are by no means safe yet. They will need Murray and Maupay to score a few more goals before they put their feet up and crack open a can.

16) West Ham United - A Over T
A#*e Over T#ts is a good way to describe how West Ham's season was going before the lockdown! Having won just 1 in their last 9 Premier League games they will be looking to stop the rot fast. If it keeps going wrong, then a 9% Barley Wine might just be the thing Hammers fans need.

17) Watford FC - Siren Calypso
Harry in the shop chose this beer as his pick of the week and now also as the beer to symbolise his club - ‘A zesty sour for when the sun is shining’. He's going to have to hope the sun keeps shining on Watford for the rest of the season as they look to become the 4th team to avoid relegation after being bottom at Christmas.

18) Bournemouth AFC - Lindeman Kriek Cherry Lambic Beer
The Cherries under Eddie Howe have taken to the Premier League well over the past 5 seasons but has the bubble now burst? They will be hoping that the many players returning from injury will be able to kickstart their season to avoid a bitter-sweet finish - much like this beer gives you!

19) Aston Villa - Big Drop Brown Ale
We will admit that by this point we were struggling to find appropriate beer on our shelves. For that reason, we have chosen Big Drop's Alcohol-free Brown Ale, an award-winning ale from a company who's motto is 'To Drink. Not be drunk.' The question is though, can the Villains avoid the Big Drop??

20) Norwich City - Duration - Strong Opinions, Held Lightly
After starting well this season with a famous win over Man City the wheels fell off for the Canaries throughout the middle of the season. Despite that they are still in with a hope of avoiding the drop with games against relegation rivals still to play. We are still going to suggest a strong, Norfork-brewed IPA in case they need to drown their sorrows.
