November Hop Dressing
Our ever helpful Hoppers are in action again in the hop garden, as they tackle the traditional task of “dressing” the hops.
By cutting back all the foliage, right down to the ground, it should encourage the hops to hibernate underground.
Hopefully the chillier nights will persuade the hops to stay dormant underground and preserve their energy until springtime.
Depending on the weather, it should take Matthew and our Hoppers two or three weeks to dress the whole hop garden.
If you fancy a few hours of outdoor activity, with like-minded individuals, why not sign up as a volunteer Hopper? Matthew has a plentiful supply of secateurs and gloves, and there will be some liquid refreshment too!
