News from the Hogs Back: What's brewing?
As we start to return to what may be the 'New Normal' , the Hogs Back has had to adjust to the new landscape. Pubs are still due to be closed for about another month so we have had plenty of customers purchasing beer to enjoy in their gardens. With Fathers Day in a few weeks, we have some new products to launch, competitions you can enter, new offers and more people can benefit from our Local Home Delivery scheme.
Brewing up to near full capacity
The brew team have been busy around the clock brewing 6 times this week, the highest weekly brew since the start of the lockdown. They have been topping up the beer for the bottle range and for the draught range for the Brewery Shop but also for a limited number of pubs and outlets offering takeaway beer services. We will also be watching the guidelines and making preparations should the hospitality industry be opened up at the start of July.
Product innovation has also been on the minds of the brew team who have brewed a brand new beer for our keg range. East Coast IPA joins our family as a 5.8% Hazy & unfiltered IPA with incredible mouthfeel, packed full of hop aroma to give that much-loved US craft character. It is available on draught this weekend from our drive-through and will soon be available in cans for home delivery.
After much popular demand, we are now delighted to unveil our new Hog IPA cans! The IPA has fast become one of our fan favourites with its pine notes and citrus finish and complements Hogstar in our can range.
To launch the new cans, Sam from the shop team has, in Willy Wonka stlye, snuck 5 Golden £10 shop vouchers into 5 cases from the first batch of 500 cases. Order online or collect from the drive-through to see if you are lucky enough to receive one of these cases.
Exciting new Craft range available from Drive-through and Home Delivery
Difficult times like this have led to some nice outcomes where co-operation becomes the best situation for everyone. As an example, we have been able to work with some friendly breweries to offer multi-pack products from our drive-through and for Local Home Delivery. This includes Padstow Brewing Co's Padstow IPA, Siren's Soundwave IPA, Thatchers Gold and their delicious new Cloudy Lemon cider and to that list we can now add award-winning London brewer Gipsy Hill's Selection box. This includes:
Carver - a Tropical and juicy 2.8% Micro IPA
Hepcat - Their flagship beer, a 4.6% session IPA
Bandit - a fruity and floral 3.8% Gluten Free Pale Ale
Hunter - a 4.8% unfiltered Helles Lager
We're hoping to add to this list over the coming weeks but don't forget that our full range of British and International beers as well as the craft can range is still able to buy from our drive-through service. Just ask a member of staff for what you are looking for and they will be able to check for you and bring it to your car. If you are looking to top up your craft can selection, the shop will offer you a 10% reduction when you purchase 12 or more cans.
Local Home delivery service expansion
We have great news for Hogs Back fans from Chertsey, Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, Leatherhead, Tolworth and Epsom; our Local Home Delivery Scheme is coming to you!
From this Friday, if you have a postcode beginning with KT8, KT10, KT11, KT12, KT13, KT15, KT16, KT17, KT18, KT19, KT20 or KT22 then on top of the bottled beer you have been ordering, you will also be able to order online Brewery Fresh Beer, Wine, selected craft beers, Thatchers Cider and Bread & Meat packs.
If this includes you, then place your order this weekend and this will be delivered to you at the start of next week by one of our friendly draymen.
Pub at Home Kit launched ahead of Fathers Day
Whats more traditional than taking Dad to the pub for a pint on Fathers Day? Well under these circumstances you may need to bring the pub and the pint to dad this year! We have therefore introduced our new Pub at Home kits which include 17 beers, a Hogs Back pint glass, 2 packs of Alf Turners Pork Scratchings and some Dripmats for the authentic pub experience.
They will be available from our Drive-through and online from Saturday 6th June.
