Best Foot Forward
As Matthew takes a well-deserved break, Miles makes the final selection of home-grown hops for this year’s hop awards at the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.
After last year’s phenomenal success with medals in three categories and the crowning glory of winning the coveted Le Mays cup, it’ll be a tough act to follow.
But it would be a fitting way to mark our tenth anniversary of growing hops here on the Hogs Back. Although this year's crops wasn't the biggest, because of the wet weather early on the growing cycle, the quality of hops is excellent, adding a distinctive flavour to our beers.
So hopes are high for more success in the 2024 IBD Hop Growing Competition.
