Hogs Back Beer Back in Germany

Guildford Twinning Association made its customary trip to Germany last month to represent Guildford at Freiburg’s biennial Parter Cities Fair.

Freiburg invites its 12 twin towns from across the world, offering a hearty welcome and the chance to promote their tourist attractions and showcase their local produce.

In a country that knows a thing or two about beer, the samples of Tongham TEA and Surrey Nirvana went down very well! The only challenge was to decide which beer everyone preferred most!  It was a close run thing, but Tongham TEA came out just on top. With Silent Pool gin tastings also taking place, the Guildford stand proved very popular with the hundreds of visitors to the Fair!

The Guildford contingent, headed by Mayor Jane Tyson, flew the flag for Guildford alongside the other twin town representatives including from Madison, Winsconsin, Suwon in South Korea, Besancon in France and Granada in Spain, while local supporters promoted Matsuyama in Japan and Lviv in Ukraine.
