Hosting the first Surrey Hills Fire & Food Fair!

This autumn, Hogs Back Brewery will be firing things up as the proud host of the very first Surrey Hills Fire & Food Fair – a sizzling new celebration of food, drink and community taking place on Saturday 18th October (12pm–9pm) and Sunday 19th October (10am–4pm).

Organised by Surrey Hills Enterprises, in collaboration with BBQ Magazine and in partnership with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, the event promises to be a real treat – combining flame-cooked feasting, artisan discoveries, freshly poured Hogs Back beers and ciders, and live music with a relaxed festival atmosphere in the heart of the Surrey Hills.

The Fire Stage: Live Demos from Top Chefs

At the heart of the weekend is the BBQ Magazine Fire & Food Stage, where some of the UK’s most exciting fire chefs will showcase their skills over world-class grills.

Across both days you’ll see live-fire theatre from:

• Simon Taylor (Surrey Hills Butchers, who are one of our tenants here at the Brewery) – flame-kissed cuts and expert carving
• Wayne “Daddy Bear Grills” Smith – bold, high-energy outdoor feasts
• Jay Porter (Porter House Orangery) – Spanish flair meets British produce
• Mark “Griff” Griffiths (Woodfire Camping) – rustic, seasonal game and veg over embers
  

Between demos, festival-goers can join the legendary Pancake Challenge or try their hand at the Cornhole Challenge for the chance to win foodie prizes.

More to Taste, Learn & Enjoy

Alongside the fire stage, there’s a packed programme of smaller demos exploring flavours and techniques: think fermented foods, Indian spices, warming cocktails, and tempting chocolate.

With 60 artisan stalls, there’s plenty to taste and take home, from Surrey Hills butchers’ finest meats to local chutneys, sweet treats, clothing, homeware, jewellery, and more.

Festival Vibes All Weekend

With street food, Hogs Back brews, fire pits, and live music, the Fire & Food Fair promises a true taste of autumn festival energy.

On Saturday night, enjoy The Farley’s Band live in the Hangar, mingle with friends around the flames, and savour a hot cider or pint of Tongham TEA. Sunday keeps the fires burning with more live-fire chef demos, tasting sessions, artisan shopping, and live music to round off a weekend of great food, drink and community spirit.

Early bird tickets are just £12.50 for adults, increasing to £15.00 for standard admission. Under 16s go free, and concessions are £10. Parking is free, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
