The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride comes to Hogs Back Brewery
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) arrived in style on Sunday 19 May. The brewery was the last stop on the group’s Surrey Hills ride, with 742 riders – making it the UK’s second-biggest DGR event – who have so far raised an impressive over £50,000 and more expected for prostate cancer and men’s mental health charities.
Among the riders were celebrity bikers Charlie Boorman and Joe Wicks, who led the lengthy procession on the final leg of the ride through Farnham and into the brewery, as crowds of enthusiasts and onlookers lined the streets. The ride started in Guildford, taking a 28-mile route through the Surrey Hills.
On-site, riders enjoyed our beers including Little Swine 0.5% and food from the Tap, alongside live music. They were also able to admire our Hogs Back Beer Machine – a specially-built Harley Davidson with a barrel-shaped sidecar. Although no longer roadworthy, the bike has been a star attraction at beer festivals and the Hop Harvest celebrations over many years.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will return to Hogs Back in 2025.
