Cascade comes in! - Hogs Back Brewery

Cascade comes in!

After a brief hiatus for Hop Harvest Party Weekend, the Hangar has returned once more to Harvest HQ.

The Cascade hops traditionally take a little longer to ripen, and this year is no exception. The extra week in the Hop Garden under the sun has worked wonders and the distinctive citrusy aroma is very much in evidence!

The yellow lupulins, which contain the hop oils and give the hops their aroma and flavour, can be clearly seen.

The first of the Cascade hops were brought in early this morning by Matthew and his 70+ team of Hoppers, who are ensuring the hops are picked at the peak of freshness.
