Bryony Dunn & The Forest confirmed for Hop Harvest Roots 2025
Look out for Bryony Dunn & The Forest at Hop Harvest Roots 2025 on Friday 12th September 2025 on Friday 12th September.

Bryony Dunn & The Forest create music inspired by the earth and shaped like a river, babbling over rocky friendships, cascading into pools of love, and eddying at the anxieties of modern life. Born in the wilds of the Surrey Hills—where sisters Bryony and Gina and lead guitarist Jake grew up exploring Leith Hill and drummer Emma studied in Guildford—their sound pulls from childhoods spent building tree forts and swimming in local rivers.
“Alt folk with hard edges, or indie rock with a soft centre.”
Their debut EP, Burning Fields (August 30), was recorded in a converted chapel StudiOwz with engineer Owain (Billie Marten, The Heavy Heavy), using vintage analogue equipment to craft a warm, timeless feel. The result is a collection of songs that sit comfortably alongside Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Wolf Alice’s Blue Weekend.
Sisters Bryony and Gina Dunn are the vocal heart of the band, joined by childhood friend Jake Andrews on ripping lead guitar, viral TikTok musician Emma Taylor on drums, and bassist Cat Lawler. Their roots run deep in the Surrey Hills—Bryony, Gina, and Jake grew up just a short walk across Leith Hill from each other, spending their days building tree forts and swimming in local rivers, while Emma studied in Guildford and now resides in Farnham. Their music is infused with the raw, untamed spirit of their upbringing.
They have cut their teeth on the London live scene, including a sold-out launch show at Dalston Roofpark and festival sets at Black Deer, Weyfest, and Pub in the Park. Their music has been supported by BBC Introducing and Radio X, and they were featured as Caffè Nero’s Artist of the Month.
Looking ahead at 2025, they have new music on the way, a headline show at The Lexington (April 11), and festival appearances including Dart Music Festival, Elderflower Fields, and a main stage run at Pub in the Park. They have also been shortlisted for Truck Festival’s band app.
“Transporting us back to our wild roots, overflowing with a charming conscience that makes them one to watch.” - Katie Last, Crescendo Magazine
“We’re big fans” - Melita Dennett, BBC introducing
“An X-Posure favourite“ - John Kennedy, Radio X
"Highly charismatic and expressive presence onstage" - Dan Sheed, Turtle Tempo
“Alt folk with hard edges, or indie rock with a soft centre, you just get drawn in by the instant accessibility of the music. Expect some glorious harmonies, some spitting guitar and lots of Bryony's ‘Chrissie Hynde’ level of seductive but strong vocals.” - Dart Music Fest
