VE Day Commemorative Beer - Hogs Back Brewery

VE Day Commemorative Beer

To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day on 8th May, there’s a very special brew in the brewhouse – The Hero IPA.

For this commemorative beer, we’re delighted to be partnering with Alf Turner - friend, local award-winning butcher and long-term supporter of the Help for Heroes charity.

For every pint of The Hero IPA sold in local pubs and restaurants, as well as here at the Brewery, part of the proceeds will be donated by Alf Turner to the Help for Heroes charity.

At 4%, The Hero IPA is a mellow Indian Pale Ale, brewed with home-grown Cascade, married with Mosaic hops from the USA, and bursting with citrus and tropical notes.

Look out for the distinctive design featuring the three horizontal stripes of the Help for Heroes logo. Coming soon to local pubs, the Brewery Shop and Tap.

About Alf Turner:

Paul’s grandfather, Alf, founded the business in 1956 having served in the Royal Army Service Corp for nearly 20 years.  When he left the forces, Alf opened his butcher’s shop in Aldershot, the home of the British Army.  So it seemed only natural this third-generation butcher should support the Help for Heroes charity.

To date, the Alf Turner company has raised over £300,000 for the Help for Heroes charity with donations from the sale of its products.

About Help For Heroes

Help for Heroes is the leading Armed Forces and Veterans' charity in the UK, providing life-changing support for the very seriously ill and injured veterans and their families.

For each The Hero IPA pint sold 6p will be paid to the Help for Heroes Trading Limited which gift aids its taxable profits to Help for Heroes (Registered Charity Number 1120920)
