Beer & BBQ Food Pairing enjoyed by Tongham TEA Club

Nearly 200 Tongham TEA Club members and their guests braved the warm weather to attend the first Beer & BBQ Food Pairing evening.

Interest was high in this new and exclusive TTC members event in the Tap and it didn’t disappoint.

After a welcome from Miles, it was over to Simon from Surrey Hills Butchers, based here at the Brewery, to demo his renowned BBQ skills as he rustled up mini tasters of tender, juicy steak bavette, marinaded in herby chimichurri sauce.

Head Brewer Dewald was on hand to talk all things beer while Beer Sommelier Gina introduced two perfect beer & beef pairings: Tongham TEA with its beautiful balance between malt and hops perfectly complemented the rich meat flavour.  The carbonation of One Planet 1765 English Pilsner provided the perfect cut-through to the fresh chimichurri marinade.

With fine food and brilliant beer, a good evening was had by all!
