Sustainability Award Nominations
We’re proud to be shortlisted for Sustainability Champion at 2025 Surrey Business Awards!
For over ten years we have been growing our own hops just yards from the brewhouse, and picking, drying and packing the hops here so that they don’t leave our sight or site!

The 120 solar panels installed in September 2023 on the roof are supplying 20% of our total electricity requirements. Since installation, we have saved 9,975kg of CO2, equivalent to planting over 600 trees.

Spent grain from the brewing process is recycled as local animal feed.

Re-usable glass and stainless-steel beer containers in our Brewery Shop last year saved 8,000 single-use plastic bottles. Gift packs use 100% recycled, FSC certified cardboard.
Wherever possible, our Brewery Tap and Shop source locally including meat from local butchers, locally roasted coffee, gin, honey, ice-cream and cheese as well as working with a local wine merchant, who handpicks wines from small, sustainable, carbon-neutral producers.
We invested in two cleaner, ULEZ compliant delivery vehicles.
To help wildlife, we planted trees and shrubs to encourage birds and 1,000 lavender and bee-attractive plants.
Changing the brewing plant and vessel cleaning process has saved 130,000 litres of water, with similar savings going to drain. On site, we recycle 14 tons of glass and 12 tons of cardboard.
At the 2025 Hop Harvest Party weekend, over 14,000 pints were served in reusable plastic glasses to avoid single use plastic, with drinks tokens made from recycled fishing nets.
Let’s hope our efforts to make the business more sustainable impresses the judges ahead of awards night on 12th November at G Live Guildford!
