1968 White Rum
This is a UK first, being made from scratch from sugar cane juice that we import from Costa Rica. We create a sirop that we then ferment for three weeks and distil twice. This is not your usual pot stilled Molasses rum, we are using fine cane juice to produce a sweet, flavoursome rum. It has a rich bouquet of ripe bananas and delicious dried fruit. It is smooth enough to drink just on ice, but has enough floral content to make a fabulous T-Punch or rock a Mojito, or with ginger beer to make a 'Light & Stormy'. What could be more fitting for the home of the Royal Navy, where rum was once issued to sailors as part of their daily rations, than for rum to be distilled at the Portsmouth Distillery by two ex-Navy officers? 1968 White Rum is at 41%, as we are in a pentagon Fort, and 4+1 = 5!
